My personal headcanon for Gilda when she was 16 (Dash was 14)
She dyed her fur and feathers, had piercings, and beyond that, she was a griffin, even if she was adopted by ponies. Gilda was considered the ultimate bad girl at flight camp, and though some suggested that it was an act, most of them showed up to class either soaking wet, or with a bruised eye. Dash and her met some time after Dash got her cutie mark, and they started dating shortly after. Most ponies claimed Dash just wanted the thrill of dating an exotic predator, and, though it might have influenced her hasty decision to enter a relationship with Gilda. Gilda was a bully and a prankster on her best days, and an outright delinquent on the worst. Dash got dragged in to her chickfriend's bad decisions and pranking, and as they got older, she got dragged into something that got them both kicked out of flight camp.
