Contrail is an Earth Pony with an obsession for breaking the bonds of earth. Coming from a land where Pegasus and Unicorns are considered "exotic", he was shunned by his ground-hugging community. Maybe Ponyville might be a bit more accepting.
He has his home and hangar on the outskirts of town, where he perfects his life's work, what we would call "fixed-wing aircraft". His prize beauty, the Icarus, flies using the power of pulse jet.
His creation was inspired by two songs:
"Icarus (Born On Wings Of Steel)" by Kansas
"Hikoki Gumo" by ArYim
