Jayfeather has always been picked on in the Gryphon Kingdom for his size. He's always been a small gryphon, the smallest in the kingdom, as far as he knew. As such, it was customary for the older gryphons to bully him as he grew up. He eventually left the kingdom, flying to Cloudsdale to join their weather team. He was made fun of there, as well, not only for his size, but because he was "too lame of a gryphon to do gryphon things". He was picked on for not being a good member of his species, one that could pass on the best of traits. Of course, nobody knew that he had a talent for painting. He had incredible control over his tail and his wings, right down to the tips, and found it easy to use his wings as secondary "hands", and his tail would be used to paint. He could create wonderful things that way. He ended up making himself a cloud home not far from the city of Cloudsdale where he could keep up his work, while still working his hardest to take care of the weather with the pegasi. In a relationship, he'd probably have his partner help him with his paintings, even if they weren't good. He'd hum to them and always want to be near them and holding them, and he could never ever lift a claw against them. This leaves him open to getting used, and even if he is, he finds himself forgiving others all too easily. If nurtured, however, his love can be the most beautiful thing someone can receive.
