With Halloween/ Nightmare Night approaching I thought I'd do something in the spirit of things. A month or so ago I posted a quick sketch of Flutterbat that I had done one afternoon Full moon (>>949828)

Well I decided between working on commissions to take a stab at doing the in piece in color and here is the result. I used a couple of new techniques on the piece to help me blend the colored pencil in the background. I'm quite happy with the results.

The other debate was determining how to render Fluttershy/ Flutterbats colorations under moonlight I did some experimenting and quickly discovered that the brushable dolls in full moonlight washed out pretty badly. So instead I decided to study still frames frames from the episode and assumed their is some secondary fill light helping to illuminate her.

Now I just need to find a home for her. Might put her up on Ebay or perhaps one of the upcoming cons in 2016.
