"Please excuse the possible incoherent manner of this, as I just can't seem to gather my thoughts properly.

Another Tumblr commission, with teenage AJ and Braeburn rough-housing a bit and AJ coming out victorious, much to Braeburn's dismay.

I could see these two often playing and wrestling when they were little, and though often evenly matched in strength, AJ would often come out on top in their games. However, when Braeburn hit is growth spurt in his teenage years (and AJ barely have grown at the time), he was rather confident that he would finally have the upper hand on his rowdy whirlwind of a cousin, that he would finally have the advantage. Little did he know that size and strength isn't always enough, as Applejack still reigned supreme. Honestly, I wouldn't kind making a short storyboard or animation for this particular scene, though we'll see if that ever happens.

Lackluster story aside, I wish I had more to say on this one. As this was only supposed to be a flat-coloring, it probably would have benefited more to add some sort of shading or shadows of some kind. Not really sure if the color is even being properly represented in this scan. Background was added a bit last minute, though I'm not sure if it adds or detracts from the drawing as a whole. Also tried to give them both a 'ruffled' look, with matted fur, messed up manes and coated with dirt here and there. I also decided to give AJ a black coloring to her legs, akin to a buckskin mustang (I think that's what they're called), as not only did I think it looked rather good on her, but I can also see here as being just as wild as a mustang. Yeah…random. Moving on.

As always, please feel free to let me know what you guys think, as any critiques and thoughts are always appreciate. And I really mean that, as they are a valuable way for me to grow and learn as an aspiring artist, and one that still has so much to learn.
