"Most of the Elements of Harmony's children were carefully planned after marriage. Not Apple Bourbon, though. He was, in a way, a very fortunate accident.

For years after that fateful Gala, Soarin was a frequent customer. According to him, no pie on earth could compare to one from Sweet Apple Acres. His fellow Wonderbolts teased him about his weekly trips down to Ponyville, asking him if he'd asked out 'the pretty farm pony' yet. Soaring would scoff, turn away, and blush. She was, indeed, a very beautiful mare. She had once even given him a kiss ron the cheek for being such a loyal buyer.

On one visit, Applejack had forgotten to bake his pies! So she invited him in to help her bake some. Soarin was a sloppy baker, though, and halfway through ened up splattering pie filling on his face. Ebarrassed, he reached for a towel. But Applejack's hoof stopped him.

She reaced over and licked it off his face, then kissed him right on the lips. They started to make out, but the playful Soarin cut it short by reaching into the bowl and scooping up a hoof full of filling- and splattered it right onto her face! The two got into a food fight of sorts, attacking each other with sliced apples, sugar, unbaked crust, full pies, and spices. In the end, the kitchen was a mess- and even worse, THEY were a mess. But Soarin was gonna fix that :eyes:

After that, they were together as filly-and-coltfriends. They went as dates to Rainbow Dash and Spitfire's wedding, and Applejack came to nearly every one of Soarin's shows.

But as time went by, ponies began to talk about Applejack's growing belly. At first, it was just assumed she'd put on a few pounds as most mares do when they're mature. But her belly began to grown, and soon everypony realized she was pregnant.

One night, Soarin' took Applejack on a walk through the country. For the first time, they openly disscussed the foal. Applejack was unsure if they should keep it or not, because her older brother was beginning to grow angry about the pregnancy. To Applejacks surprise, though, Soarin knelt down on one knee and pulled out a ring, asking for her hoof in marriage. Applejack, joyfully, accepted, and they were married within a few months. Soon, little Apple Bourbon was born, and all was well.

…Except that every time "pie" is mentioned, Bourbon get's REALLY embarrassed. His parents held back no details about his conception."

TL;DR version: They had sex out of wedlock after baking pies and later on Soarin' proposed to Applejack.
