I love Silver Lining. I know everyone likes Whoa Nelly, but I prefer Silver Lining, considering my headcanon for her special talent; Motivational speaking and making others love themselves like she loves herself, even if she's a bit odd. Plus, Whoa Nelly is just… Kinda bad. Not towards the people who use it, but I'm… just not a fan of names like that.

I imagine she's good at her job, somehow. It just feels like it…. It's a desk job, she designs weather patterns. Like, "This is what the clouds should look like today, everypony! We're making clouds this color! The clouds have to be fluffy! Not solid, no fog, just light little fluffy fluff stuff! Everybody's doing great! Just wanted to tell you you're doing a really good job out here today!"… Just because she works at a factory doesn't mean she's not going to stop doing her special talent whenever she can. I love the idea of her being all about learning to love herself. You can be obese, shaped differently, have weird eyes, anything, and you can still be a happy person. Don't let what others think of you affect how you see yourself. You don't have to change yourself, but that doesn't mean you can't. I imagine she's naturally large and boxy shaped, so even if she was slim, she'd look out of place. But she doesn't care. Does she look like she cares? Hell no! She knows she's happy, and that's what matters.
Crack ship heading full sail to the horizon!… I just had the idea behind this when I saw Filthy Rich's current wife in canon and thought he deserved FAR better than Spoiled Rich. I was not going to keep them married in my headcanon. Spoiled Rich is an emotionally abusive awful mare and she does not deserve the nice, kind pony we see with Filthy Rich. Shortly after the divergence point of TFIM/Quartzyverse, Filthy Rich divorced Spoiled after learning that she had been manipulating their daughter and Spoiled was forced to take back her maiden name of Spoiled Rotten, left with the shambles of her oh so important reputation after ponies found out just how awful she really was. I understand that Silver Lining seems like an odd choice, and I suppose for the more shallow, some would find her more repulsive than Spoiled… but those people aren't me and I don't really feel like they deserve validation. I think this sums it up.@ Silver Lining is a motivational speaker who loves herself and wants others to love themselves too. She's a wonderful pony, even if she's an odd sort. And I doubt Filthy Rich would treat her as anything but the lady she deserves to be treated as… and frankly, I'm sure Spoiled would find herself sitting in the corner wearing the most angry face she can muster and is like "He picks that cow over me?"… but nopony cares about her. Daisy Jo might have some words for her, even.
Diamond Tiara probably wouldn't like her new mom at first, no one enjoys divorce, especially not the children, and every new mom is new… and Diamond Tiara still has a lot to learn about being a better pony. But eventually, I think she'd find herself with somepony much better at being a mom than Spoiled ever was. Eventually, the kindness, the supportiveness, the encouragement and the acceptance is enough to make her realize how bad her mom really was… and overcoming her own predjudices to realize Silver Lining is a good pony, even if she's an odd looking pony. And Silver Lining is somepony who would support Diamond Tiara as best she could, even when she pushed her away.
It's a fun, nonsensical ship, but…. it's still better than Filthy's old wife.
