Hearth's Warming Eve was coming close. While "auntie" Applebloom took their children Summer Wind and Snow Blossom to the Foal's Grand Hearth's Warming party, organized by Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Big MacIntosh have been preparing the festive dinner. Besides their Apple-Shy family, Rainbow Dash, Soarin and their Rainfall were going to join, as well as Pinkie and Cheese.
It was the very first big party for little Snow Blossom, and it gave Fluttershy little worries, although Summer Wind promised to look after his sister. It was really nice to see that the colt takes his role of a big brother very seriously, but of course in this case Fluttershy relied on Applebloom in the first place. Other than that, she hoped the kids will enjoy the party, but could their be any serious doubts? Pinkie Pie knew how to make ponies happy. Both Fluttershy and Big Mac wondered who will play the role of Santa Hooves. Rainfall has already stated that this magical old stallion doesn't exist, and he is always played by a disguised pony. Will Pinkie be able to make this skeptical little filly believe in Santa?
"They'll be home soon ah suppose"
"I believe so," — Fluttershy glanced into the window.
"Beautiful night, isn't it?" — Big McIntosh wrapped his foreleg round his wife's waist.
"Yes" — she whispered and snuggled up to him, — "Luna's winter stars are always so big and bright."
"Eeyup. Just like sparkling diamonds in the sky."
"Do you remember our first Hearth's Warming?"
"How can Ah forget?" — red stallion smiled and kissed her cheek, — "those carols… our dance… and then ya told me ya were expecting," — he laughed softly, — "Ah was stunned!"
"Y-yes…" — Fluttershy blushed and hid her muzzle behind her mane.
Big McIntosh couldn't lie — he had a soft spot for this her habit. Admiring her cute look, he turned a deaf ear to what she said after that.
"Umm… could ya repeat, please?" — now it was his turn to blush.
"I… well… I thought that since… thinking about that day… it is a good time to…" — Fluttershy went on gabbling, rubbing her belly a bit.
"Wait," — Big Mac finally understood, — "ya're trying to say that ya…" — he gently touched her abdomen.
"Yes" — she nodded.
The stallion smiled again and gave her another kiss.
"Now that is a best Hearth's Warming gift."
"For which one of us?" — giggled pink-maned mare.
"For both."
They looked each other in the eyes.
"Happy Hearth's Warming, Mac."
"Happy Hearth's Warming, Flutters."
