Rarity as Count Dooku/Darth Tyranus, second in a series of Ponies as Star Wars Villains.

First Was Rainbow Dash as Darth Maul

I think this actually looks pretty good considering how quickly I did it and how "eh" Dash came out yesterday…

Probably because of the seven characters I did, this Rarity has the least Star Wars influences… plus the lightsaber is a neat touch I think, I didn't have "unicorn magic" to use for Dash to get Maul's double saber.

So…Count Dooku… a tragically underused character.

Attack of the Clones is an atrocious movie. Where The Phantom Menace was mostly just boring when it tried to be smart and offensive when it tried to be funny, Attack of the Clones is just all around bad. It's a shame too, I didn't really care about Naboo or the Trade federation in I, but I want to care about Anikan and the Rebublic in II, but there's nothing to like about the movie. The Romance is forced, the dialogue is terrible, the action is boring, Episode I had a few really cool bits hidden under the pile of shit, Episode II's shit isn't as bad as Episode I's but it's shit all the way down.

Back to Count Dooku though, he had so much potential as a character and it was completely wasted.

1) He was played by Christopher freaking Lee. Count Dracula himself. A-list bad guy actor.

2) He was a fallen Jedi Master. We had Vader before, but he was a lower level Jedi before he turned, Dooku has the full Jedi Pedigree in addition to whatever Sith powers he might have.

3) He was Yoda's apprentice, Yoda, the best Jedi ever.

4) He was Qui-Gon's Master, There was so much potential for him to screw with Obi-Wan and Anikan as an evil mentor figure that was never used.

5) He was a master manipulator. He probably didn't even need to use his Jedi powers to screw with people.

But ultimately, he didn't show up until 3/4 through the movie (probably because Lucas figured Jango Fett would sell more action figures and gave him what should have been Dooku's screen time), then once he did show up he didn't really do anything until the very end where he had a lightsaber fight with 3 Jedi that still somehow is the most boring one in the series. Then he died like a chump in the first ten minutes of the next movie. And then finally he became the main villain of The Cone Wars where he at least got to look cool a lot, but because of how the show works, he wasn't allowed to ever do much of anything substantial or else he'd ruin the continuity since the clone war has to be at a stalemate when Episode III starts. Plus they made him a lot more transparently evil in the show than the movie. Somehow Darth Maul who had a whole three lines in his movie was way more developed in The Clone Wars than Dooku was.

So Yeah…

Here's Rainbow Maul:
