It's a bit amazing how such a simple gesture such as applauding Granny Smith in "Family Appreciation Day" is enough to make fans thing so much better of Silver Spoon. Suddenly, of the two bullies, she's the one that's not-so-bad in the eyes of the viewers.
The show has a history of letting its antagonists find redemption, after all, so I really can't blame the audience for looking for signs of it in two of the most persistent ones they see. And it certainly makes a good bit of sense, what with Silver Spoon seeming more like a follower of mean girl Diamond Tiara rather than the main instigator. Certainly those two will eventually have to grow out of being pointlessly cruel, won't they?
Doesn't look like it's set to happen in Season 4 though, judging by the Comicon animatics…
