"Someone will come. I know it. They should have noticed we're gone. They'll be here any minute."
Sweetie Belle began to lose confidence in her words. Snails sparked a light from his horn. "Maybe we should stop. It's getting really dark."
"Yeah," Sweetie agreed. "And Rarity…Rarity said that if I ever got lost, I should stay right where I am so she can find me."
A frightening howl rose in the air, drawing the two closer together in fear. "Maybe we should find somewhere to hide, too."
"But what about the others and finding us?"
Another howl.
"Do you want what ever that is to find us first?"
The unicorns shoved though the bushes and settled in another small clearing. Grass tickled their ankles. "Maybe we should stay low. Hide in the grass."
Awkwardly, they flattened themselves on the grass. "I hope that howling thing is pretty dumb."
Sweetie Belle drew her cape tighter around her small white body. "I wish Rarity was here." She whimpered. "Why did she have to go?" She shivered as the temperature dropped. Snails grew concerned. He was her only companion now. Wasn't it his duty to protect the little filly?
He inched closer, keeping a sharp eye out. He was startled as Sweetie Belle started to choke down sobs. "What if we never find her? We could get more lost and just be wandering aimlessly around until we die or something."
Snails shook his lanky head. "Hey, we are not gonna die. You said it yourself, now's our chance to prove we aren't just kids."
Sweetie sighed.
"We'll make it. Together."
His small friend nodded finally, drying her eyes. "Yeah. Together."
