- A painfully simple wallpaper for all you science buffs out there.
— If any of you were wondering as to what I do in college, I'm actually a chemistry major. I love the subject and it continues to fascinate me. I don't have much time at the moment for "complex" art and so I'm restricted to simpler projects, but I still try to place meaning behind each one. Each of the Mane-six is assigned an atomic number with certain meaning behind it. The meanings are as follows.

Honesty (Applejack) = 1 (Hydrogen) — "Hard-working Hydrogen" is commonly shared in many atomic and organic compounds, and is found almost everywhere in nature.

Loyalty (Rainbow Dash) = 15 (Phosphorus) — Phosphorus is a volatile element, and is very reactive. It also comes in many different colors.

Generosity (Rarity) = 6 (Carbon) — Diamonds are made from Carbon which has been subjected to extreme heat and pressure for long periods of time.

Magic (Twilight) = 42 (Molybdenum) — Twilight assigned racing number in "Fall Weather Friends" was 42. Molybdenum has one of the highest melting points in the periodic table (6th highest)

Kindness (Fluttershy) = 79 (Gold) — Heart of gold. Need I say more?

Laughter (Pinkie Pie) = 118 (Ununoctium) — One of the most unstable elements on the periodic table.

For those who are curious, the numbers to the right of the cutie marks going down vertically are the number of electrons in each "Shell" of the atom starting closest to the nucleus and expanding outwards. The large picture of the atom to the left of the elements demonstrates what these shells can "theoretically" look like…. without the jewels of course.
