Very rarely I come across a film that keeps me guessing until the very end, but this one did and the conclusion couldn’t be more satisfactory. The characters are memorable, the acting is spot on, the setting drew me in in a matter of seconds, and the writing is just phenomenal.
The writing is perhaps this movie’s strongest point, because it never feels like it’s patronizing the audience or pulling its plot-twists out of its sleeve. It makes you feel smart because it’s really smart. Also it has some legitimately good touches of comedy, without it turning into slapstick or silly, while still selling the most dramatic scenes.
This is a fantastic movie, and you should go see it right now.
And now, if you'll excuse me, I need to get rid of these two before they decide to set up a carousel in the middle of Ponyville. I sure won’t be riding on it, no matter how much they pay me."
