The banshee shriek of the alarm clock rang through the bedroom, dragging Rarity out of what was a very pleasant sleep. She sat up and stretched, before pulling off the covers and letting the brisk, chill morning air pierce her bare legs. As her eyes came into focus, she say the first fiery golden rays of Celestia's sun start to peek in the room. Rarity was not a morning pony, at all, but this particular client had insisted on coming in as soon as the Boutique opened, and Rarity was not one to disappoint.
The one nice thing about waking up early was that Sweetie didn't get a chance to take all the hot water yet. She was always quite leisurely with her bathing — apparently, getting around to washing the shampoo out of her air after she squirted it in wasn't a high priority. But today, the shower was hers, and she breathed in the warm steam, a little sense of victory dancing in her head.
After she was able to finally drag herself away from the humid bliss of the bathroom, she rummaged through her dresser, trying to find something appropriate to wear. This was a major client after all! She had to look her best. She was finally able to settle on a blue blouse, but just as she was begining to button it, there was a familiar knock on her bedroom door.
"Not now, Sweetie, I'm getting ready."
But that didn't dissuade the filly, and she opened the door, with a little sigh from Rarity. Sweetie Belle flung herself on Rarity's bed, looking bored. Winter break had begin, and completely thrown off her sleep schedule, which she was happy to share with Rarity.
"Isn't your cartoon going to be on in a few minutes, Sweetie?"
"Nah, not for another hour. Can we do something? John's still asleep."
"Sweetie, I have a very important meeting today. I need to get ready. There's some Cupcake Crisp in the pantry — why don't you go get a bowl?"
"I already ate though."
Well, so much for that plan. For the next few minutes, Sweetie laid there, as Rarity went about getting ready for the day. Sweetie spotted the hairbrush sitting on the corner of the dresser, and a wicked little smile started to creep on her face. She slunk off the bed, and, when Rarity was looking away, snatched it up, scrambling back up on the bed with her prize.
"Wha- Sweetie! I need that!"
"You'll have to catch me then!"
Rarity gave an annoyed huff and grabbed at the filly, only for her to bounce back out of reach. Rarity climbed up on the bed and tried to get the brush, but Sweetie held it out of reach. She was giggling now — it was rare she got a chance to play like this, at least with Rarity. But, she wasn't the only one starting to enjoy the chase.
"Oh, is that how it's going to be, hmm?"
With a predatory smile, Rarity pounced on Sweetie, pinning her against the mattress — now thoroughly disheveled. She grinned at her prey, Sweetie only giggling wilder as she was caught.
"Are you sure you don't want to give that back?"
"Never!"
"You asked for it!"
With that, Rarity pressed her face against her belly and blew as hard as she could, Sweetie squealing and kicking her legs as the raspberry blasted against her.
"Okay okay, uncle uncle! You win! I give up!"
She he dropped the brush, and Rarity let go, both sisters falling back on then bed, Rarity chuckling softly. Well, that's certainly one way to start the day.
