Artist's Description

The day after Bubble met Mako, she went to run errands and saw him carrying a crate off his boat. Greeting each other, Mako said he found quite a lot of items to keep him busy for a while. Offering if Bubble wanted to see, the two go to his shop and Mako starts unloading the crate. Each item covered in either rust, moss, or tarnished. Others gunked up with seaweed and barnacles.

Bubble: How can you even tell what is what?

Mako: smiles a bit I don't. Not all the time anyway.

Bubble: looks in the crate and sees a small box shaped item covered in moss and barnacles, picking it up Can you tell what this is?

Mako: turns and looks it over Huh…this one I'm not entirely sure. Gently takes it from her and looks over each side All I can tell right now is that it's silver. Looks closer Edged with.. brass.

Bubble: smiles Must be a small treasure chest.

Mako: chuckles Let's find out. Sits down on his stool, pulling away the moss and chipping at the barnacles

Bubble: sits behind him and watched over his shoulder

Mako: keeps pulling and rubbing off the dirt, uncovering a small keyhole on the front Hmm.. turns it over and over, seeing a silver emblem on the top of a sparrow in a tree It's either a jewelry box, or a music box. A really old one from the looks of the lock.

Bubble: Can you pick the lock?

Mako: looks closer I don't think I'll have to. Gets up and goes to a shelf, with boxes of spare parts and tools

Bubble: What're you looking for?

Mako: A week ago I found a brass key in the sand. From the look of that emblem on the lid, I think this is the box the key belongs to… Just gotta- ah! Here it is. Holds up a small brass key, a bird designed on it

Bubble: smiles big That's great! Maybe there's something inside!

Mako: sits down again and puts the key in, turning it but it sticks, a loud click coming from inside … That doesn't sound good.

The bottom of the box gives away, spilling out water, gears, springs, tumblers, and a single hermit crab. Mako and Bubble stare at the mess on the table.

Mako: ear twitches ….well shit.

Bubble: looks a bit worried Looks like it's damaged beyond repair.

Mako: picks up a gear and it breaks in half Well, some parts of it, yeah.. but I haven't been stumped yet. Smiles a little I think I might be able to replace some of the broken parts.

Bubble: ears perk up Really?

Mako: shrugs Don't want to blow my own conch shell, but I've worked a few miracles before. Chuckles Besides, it can't hurt to try. Its gonna take a few days though. Maybe more.

Bubble: smiles then looks at the time Oh! I gotta get going, I have some errands to run.

Mako: Oh, okay. Didn't mean to keep you from it.

Bubble: smiles It's okay. But tell me when you get that box working again!

Mako: smiles Will do.
