Lucid is one of the four ponies that make up the "Marvelous Circus of Morbid Mysteries". She is not only the animal tamer, but does visual effects using the magic that would usually be seen as unacceptable, witchcraft. A pegasus that has filled many of her years practicing this dark magic did indeed catch the attention of Steamboat. The same earth pony bearing artificial limbs that approached Clockwork Crow. Convincing Lucid to join him and the others in the unnamed world he created. Meeting another pony with the same interest as him was a very rare occurrence for Steamboat, since he had mastered witchcraft over the centuries. As a result, the two quickly grew a 'father daughter' bond since Lucid Dream's real father died before she was born into the twisted world.
She's a calm character usually, but has a real temper when she wants to. She's not the strongest flyer either as witchcraft interested her far more than flying ever could. Thus, Lucid simply amazed the circus audience with her animal taming and visual stunts. But it's best not to get too close when she's center stage.
