I know you're all going to jump in me for casting the Ponies as being this naïve, but this again harkens back to A Canterlot Royal Wedding. In the first half, Twilight develops suspicions about the new "Cadance," and starts tailing her, tallying up an account of her weird behavior. But, even with all the evidence she racked up, there was one very important thing she missed. Something that I noticed right away, and am baffled that no one else remarked on: The fake Cadance's aura was the wrong color. (Yes, I know that in this comic Twilight remembered that Nat had no aura, but she had the help of Garret to make her think about it, and the Twilight in this story is a slightly more powerful and experienced Twilight than in the season two finale.)Another thing that tipped me towards the notion that nearly all ponies are magic-blind was how Chrysalis trapped Cadance in the Canterlot gem mines, successfully hiding her from Celestia. If Celestia could sense magic, she would have been able to feel Cadance's life-signs coming from the caves, and very strongly too. What with having had 1,000 years to hone her senses, and the family tie between her and her Niece, the energy given off by a family-member in distress would have called to her too strongly to ignore.There are signs of magical awareness among some ponies though (no Detect Magic spells required! ), but that's something I'll talk about on the next page. * *My Little Pony © Hasbro,Friendship is Magic was created by and assistants.
