[Previous][Index][Next][Bonus][Follow me on twitter?]* * Yes, Twilight may be one of the most powerful of unicorns or alicorns in Equestria, but barrier and pacification spells are Shining Armor and Cadance's specialties respectively. On the subject of alicorns, yes, I am one of the people who got rubbed the wrong way by the announcement of Twilight's imminent transformation into an alicorn. I could write up my feelings on the matter, but, my opinion steadily changed as time passed, and at some points aligned pretty strongly with what other people already said. First, I felt like this: [link] ("I dislike that FiM is trying to exalt this sort of role-model above all else! Excellence isn't one-dimentional, and one shouldn't encourage others to think that!"), later, I felt like this: [link] ("It's not that this is a change for the worse, it's that this isn't a change at all! If anything, it belittles the real, meaningful change that's been happening to Twilight at heart throughout the series! If she stayed a unicorn, her coronation would mean even more!"), but now, the only thing that really bothers me was that this development was revealed without the context of the episode. It's like, if I were to tell you right now that this story ends with Nahmat returning to her world, but before that, she leaves behind a ponified clone of herself who becomes Celestia's lesbian lover (no, that's not actually going to happen), you'd probably—unless you were a Tiamat shipper—think it was absolutely retarded. But, if I were to say nothing about it, and let the story run its course and properly build up to the big reveal like a good author, it might actually be enjoyable and satisfying. In hindsight, you might even decide it was inevitable, that the story couldn't have gone any other way.Oh yeah, and all the other people bitching and whining and trying to get other people pissed off bugs me too. I guess what I'm really trying to say is…SPOILERS SUCK. * *My Little Pony © Hasbro,Friendship is Magic was created by and assistants.
