Gabby Griffon who lived in Griffonstone pass. Her life was a simple one as the local mailgriffon. Everyday was spent delivering parcels and letters to Griffons who do not really enjoy interaction with anyone griffon or otherwise. Even though they were never happy to see her, she enjoyed her work since it was always different. Different townsfolk sending different things to different people, so even her route changed daily. Her mail carrying days went on for a couple of years before she began to slowly realize how dissimilar she was from the rest of the town. Her cheerful personality put her on ends with the others. Her helpful nature was often met with sneers at best and outright insults at worst. Though no matter the situation, she would always give it he all to help others.


She wasn’t too surprised to see Gilda return to the village a few months back. She was also discontent with staying at the Pass and fell with some rather rambunctious youths with dreams of never having to look back. Things must of fallen out since Gilda eventually returned, but all by her lonesome. Even if she asked, Gilda would push the subject (or her) aside and go off to skulk for a spell before returning with a tough, glaring face and very red eyes. This went on for quite a while before a pair of ponies walked up to the Pass. The pink and blue duo spent some time looking around, and while Gabriella didn’t really know how to approach them, she observed them as they reunited with and cheered up Gilda the gloomy griffon. It wasn’t long after that Gilda left, but Gabby observed that it was with a very rare smile. A week hadn’t even passed before Gabby herself left to find out what made those ponies so infectiously gleeful.


After getting to those two pony’s town of Ponyville (which she learned through some shameless eavesdropping while the duo helped at the Pass), she asked around about ponies, those marks on their hips, and how she can be just as helpful as those she knew. They all had different answers, but one of the glaring similarities in the answers she got was the Cutie Mark Crusaders helped them out in one way or another. She eventually found where they hang out from inquiring, and waited for them to show up. What ensued after they met up was lots of fast exposition and excitement at meeting them. After getting hyped up from all the villagers, she knew these three young fillies could help her find out of there was more to her life than giving letters and boxes to citizens who didn’t really care. There was some reluctance and worry at trying to help a non pony, but the girls agreed to it. The trio realized very early after trying to find where her natural talents lie that she was very proficient in doing everything. Every task the Crusaders gave her to do, she did quite excellently. After a while the girls gave in since her amount of skills were too across the board to have one stand out. Gabby made a failed attempt to cheer her newfound friends up, but it was enough for the trio to finally realize what she was good at. Her standout abilities laid with her intense need to just help those around her. With this in mind the girls (after consulting Twilight) even helped her find a combat job in helping. After all, if she was going to be the next Cutiemark Crusader, she would have to help fight as well.


A Memorist is one who uses memories to assist others in combat. She can never be as versatile as Thorax, but she is so proficient at everything that she can use almost all combat abilities after seeing them a few times. Though for all her strength, she has a bit of trouble remembering everything in the thick of combat, so what she does in a skirmish is what she can remember under pressure. It's almost random at times, but her tenacity and strength very clearly make up for her shortcomings.


Memory Glasses — A pair of shield glasses made for Memorists. She has very good eyesight so they’re just par of her uniform. She has not had formal training as a Memorist at her start, but what she does know and can do will fill the gaps as she finds a proper teacher and more memories during her journey.


Cutiemark Mailbag — It was very clear that she was not going to get a cutie mark to signify direction in her life as a griffon. The girls knew this but had no idea how to express it to Gabby as they helped her find purpose. It was a very sobering moment to the griffon as the girls told her the bad news. They did reach a happy compromise, however. The Crusaders made a set of badges for her mailbag fashioned to be similar to their Cutiemarks as a symbol of solidarity. Gabby was so happy she cried or at least half an hour.
