Sugar Belle was one of the many captives of Starlight Glimmer. She was one of about 2 dozen from the first set of “villagers” to take residence out of what would become about 120. Her previous life before her relocation was that of a pastry chef. The unicorn had a passion for baking and was just setting off on her journey to learn firsthand from other bakers new techniques that she could utilize and expand her horizons of skill. Unfortunately unlike some of her fellow residence, she wasn’t invited to the village, she was abducted after being dazed. Her hypnotic spell was already in place by the time she came to, and didn’t see Starlight as anything but someone who knew better.

After gaining her freedom due to the intervention of the Warriors, she also felt a feeling of having no direction. Her daily life was guided by someone else for quite a bit of time, and now that it was back in her control, she felt listless. She tried her hand at baking again, and while the unicorn did find it as fun as she remembered, it was obvious to her that rust had set in. In the time it took her to regain what she lost, her fellow villager, Night Glider, had learned to use the Crossbow. Now that her baking was up to par, she decided to follow her friend’s footsteps and learn how to fight for and with those who had freed and protected her. She sought help from many unicorns in the Solar lands, but they all relied heavily on the Magicks they had learned. With how much time and skill she had lost in Magickal ability, she was merely a unicorn in name mostly.

Her decision to travel to the familiar streets of Canterlot was met with the Captain of the Royal Guard and Master Paladin, Shining Armor. With the brief meeting, they discussed alternate methods of using Magicks offensively. While the common pony would use spells as a unicorn, some like him also use enchantments. In his and eventually her case, temporary spells embedded into weapons to unleash crushing, elemental spells onto their foes. This interested her into looking into a school of combat that specialized in this method, Mystic Knights. After contacting her rescuers, and a good word from the Warriors themselves, she was able to take lessons on how to use magick to power up her weapon of choice, the greatsword (it looked the most intimidating out of all the choices). Her weapons now carry runes that augment the amount of time they stay enchanted. Sugar Belle can surprisingly wield her greatsword thanks to her strength working the lands as an earth pony would while living under Starlight. Despite the laborious life, she never did quite lose her charming stockiness that years of avid taste testing gave her. She would later reply to inquiries about her shape with, “Not all of us have Pinkie’s metabolism!”

Runic Greatsword — Standard issue from learning the ways of the Mystic Knight: Greatsword Style. The Mystic Knights had a staggering amount of choices, and noted that the most used was often Rapiers. She actually carved the runes in it herself after learning they lengthen the time of the matching element.

Mystic Knight Uniform — Even though she is still studying the ways of the Mystic Knight, her teachers gave her the standard uniform after learning she would be often traveling with the Warriors. They taught her the correct forms, but learning on the field was always good for learning as well. With the uniform, she can stand and show her pride as a Mystic Knight.
