Another piece, drawn in the small intermission between sessions of modding/playing Total Warhammer. The Wood Elves are actually refreshingly different; I expected a more skirmish focussed Beastmen and instead you get a REALLY fragile army that really challenge one's micro skills, such as they are.
Anyway, the pikepony actually gave me some trouble, specifically the actual design for the weapon, since it had to be long enough to be effective for ponies and still be able to effectively wielded without the pony just tipping over.
The answer actually came from an historical example, specifically Phillip II of Macedon, who introduced sarissas who both sported a counterweight for better balance/bracing and could be disassembled for transport. I actually really like Phillip,fascinating guy. Shame he gets oershadowed by his son so much…
