I made this drawing for the Luna Day of Equestria Daily on December 21st. The drawing of Luna herself is actually part of a work in progress of a scene from my fanfiction, Lessons in quirks, but that complete scene will require a much more complex background (including a birds eye view on a burning forest and a dragon as well as a Fluttershy, who I already drew but didn't include in the picture version for the Luna day submission) and might be a bit out of context for the Luna day. Therefore I created a nighttime background with Canterlot outlines on the left and a Nightmaremoon spotted moon to symbolize Luna's guarding of the night while also on guard of her own darker sides.
