“I still don’t understand why you thought that was a good idea” Trixie said.
Discord stroked the unicorns mane, trying to find how best to explain it.
“I just thought…” he began “…that if I was to truly become a good person, that I’d have to make a big change. Become someone better for my friends. Someone better… for you.”
Trixie looked up at him with an annoyed expression. “Well, obviously, you took that notion far too literally.”
The draconequus let out a soft chuckle. “Yes, I suppose I did. I guess it’s fortunate that our dear Starlight was there, wasn’t it?”
“Fortunate for YOU. I would’ve been sure to beat some sense into you!”. There was anger in the mares eyes, but her embrace stayed strong. After he failed to come up with a retort, she sighed and rest her head on his torso again.
“Just promise you won’t do anything like this again, ok? I lo- Trixie likes you the way you are.”
The cockles in Discords immortal heart began to warm in a way he never experienced. The warmth of friendship was something he was familiar with, but this was different. Something he definitely didn’t want to lose.
“I promise” he said, conjuring a cupcake in his lions paw and sticking it straight into his left eye.
Trixie smiled at the gesture and gave him an affectionate squeeze. “Thank you.”
The spirit of chaos resumed stroking her mane as they both simply laid there in each others company.
“That being said, I would appreciate it if you also learned some impulse control.”
