"You're home early" she chuckled slightly as she turned her head to see her husband.

"I couldn't stand being apart from you any longer" Ponet answered as he buried his face in her mane.

"So it had nothing to do with you trying to sneak a peek at your hearth's warming gifts"

"No! Okay maybe a little…"

One of my oddest couples (seeing as Ponet is just a background pony with no real defined personality. Joe might be kinda too but he has at least been interacting directly with the mane six on at least one occasion)
The thing is that I didn't really know who to pair Flutters with since I don't think she has much of a chemistry with anyone in the show (if that makes sense) I always pictured her ending up with some super artistic guy that's like really sensitive and speaks in poems and all that shit (like most of the people I used to go to school with, god I love those goobers) Just really strange in most "normal" peoples eyes yet highly successful in what he does.

So then I was like, well shit, no one like that really exists in the show (like yeah Treehugger is kinda trippy, but not in the way I imagined, she seems more clueless than what I was going for I think) so I took Ponet, since he was painting in one episode and has been shown amongst the snobs in Canterlot very often, and made him to have the personality I was going for.

So Ponet is a very "poetic" and very "artistic" (meaning he basically mumbles on about the beauty of nature and life and everything all around him all the time whilst drawing abstract depictions of things and yells art whenever someone looks at his work).

His number one inspiration is his beautiful wife for whom he moved to Ponyville and now lives with her in her cottage. He loves her to death (like almost creepily obsessed over her) and paints her often.

However I kinda headcanon that Fluttershy is aromantic, meaning she doesn't feel romantic attraction to anyone. So it's mostly just him going around reciting love poems and she goes "Well that's nice, what do you want for dinner?" making him strangely even more attracted to her.

She does still love him back tho as she loves him platonically and sexually (if that makes sense) she just doesn't really go around giving kisses or telling him how much she adores him. But won't flinch away if he does those things, she rather thinks it's kinda cute most of the time.
