My first traditional drawing done in 2017, boy I needed to do some IRL stuff. So much fun. Felt like drawing this after rewatching "Equestria Games" episode — it may actually be best Spike episode in my personal ranking. Overall, if you watch me for a while, you may have noticed that I don't draw Spike all that often, unless I got any use for him in say comics or whatever. Truth to be told, to me he works best in moderate doses — not as a focus of an episode. That goes for either when he is voice of reason or when he's simply a kiddo doing silly things and being butt end of jokes. Although he does both roles well, and I think both of those aspects of him are needed. It would be boring if all the characters behave reasonable all the time. And his dynamic with Twilight is one of my favourite too. All in all, even though I don't share the love for his character as some of you folks do, I'd say he's a good addition to the series
