Shining Armor: "Right…" <turns to his soldiers> "Alright! I want soldiers in groups of four, spread out and search for survivors! Guards, Set up camp here and help medics and healers! Today will be a long day."

Shining Armor: "Spike, I need you to send a message to Celestia requesting able bodied ponies to volunteer to help with the relief work."

Spike: "No problem."

Shining Armor: "Twilight, Raven, I like you two to conduct an investigation. Take what you need and who you need… We need answers."

Twilight: "You got it."

At 7:24 am Ponyville was rocked by the sound of an explosion in the distance, at 7:33 am a guard at Canterlot noticed large billows of black smoke in the southeast and word soon got to princess Celestia and Luna. It was moments later that Celestia and Luna beseech Shining Armor to dispatch to the area of concern… He was also advised That I, Ravenhoof, and Twilight work together as support and aid to uncover the events that occurred at 7:24 am…

Upon investigation we have found out that the Gypsy Banner (a village known for mining gems) Indeed blew up… The cause of the incident was by their method of fusing magic into gems thereby making the gem explosive. According to Twilight this form Alchemy was used to make Arcane Bombs… The Arcane Bomb was used to break hard stone and safely remove potential landslides. However, According to both Twilight and I, to recreate a blast this big would have to take a really large gem (way above the safety regulation). Something else prove suspicious, the area of the blast did not come from the mining facilities, more so an area northeast of the village… Was foul play at work here remains a mystery…

lol I don't know about you but I major in the art of procrastination, that, and I'm slow XD Anyways… I'm thinking of maybe putting this in the form of a story, We'll see, till then I hope you like this artwork.
