All right, so I thought it'd be a good time to introduce an OC I've gradually fell in love with since September.

Prince Topaz is King Sombra prior his corruption, serving as the youngest child of King Onyx and Queen Amethyst, the rulers of the Crystal Empire prior Sombra's overthrowing of the royal family. He's a rather feminine-looking colt, but many mares of the empire absolutely gush over him because "He's simply so adorable!" Topaz, however, is contempt about his position… He doesn't receive the same treatment as his older sisters, Princess Aquamarine, and the crowned heir, Princess Garnet. Due to the lack of supervision on him, Topaz would occasionally wander out of the palace. Sometimes he would hang out with Sterling Silver (the darker colt walking with Topaz), who was the Captain of the Royal Guard for the Crystal Empire. One day, he decided to travel to study more magic, the forte and power he had over his siblings. However, his travels turn and unexpected turn…

Anyways! So I just was doodling… Topaz using magic, which his aura is blue if I vaguely remember from a roleplay… Drew him walking with Sterling Silver to show how different they are, a pretty basic reference of him minus gradients and the texture… And then the outfit he wore during his travels (inspired by peachiekeen's young Sombra picture).

How he got corrupted into King Sombra…well, he came across the ruins of an old kingdom—or should I say, the illusion of a ruined kingdom, and wandered into its library to see what he could find on magic. There, he found a black book, and inside was the Alicorn Amulet. He had never seen anything like it before, but soon he heard a voice, which belonged to Grogar, who in turn, took him as his apprentice as the dark artifact corrupted his body, turning his white coat into grey, his crystalline sheen shattering as the gradient mane and tail were swallowed by black. He's also in the same universe as King Bray, so xD
