About; Prince Eclipse was the result when Princess Celestia and the benevolent King Sombra she met from another world had a rendezvous that ended with passion before her departure. However, this was the departure when Starswirl the Bearded discovered the young alicorn foolishly destroying the two worlds with her selfish actions, and closed the portal between the two worlds until it was reopened centuries later by Celestia in attempt to meet with her lover again.

Eclipse, brimmed with both powerful unicorn and alicorn magic, is able to stay alive as long as his mother, his aging process slowed as he mentally had the knowledge of over a thousand years. But…due to his mother's distraught of being reminded of his father, Eclipse was mainly handled by nursemaids and rarely ever left his chambers, hidden from the public and had a rare visits with his mother. Being born shortly before the corruption of Princess Luna, he never met his aunt until she returned, and mainly grew close to him as she would teach him things his mother did not.

With the portal slightly opened, Celestia took the rare chance of taking her son to meet his father, in which Eclipse was rather nervous and unsure about the meeting, but he could see how happy his mother was with her father, and understood the consequences their love had made between their worlds.

Recently Eclipse was given permission by his mother to reside in Tambelon, curious of the world out of the Canterlot Castle's doors and slowly learning from his newest friend, Liberty Bell.

Personality; Polite, well-mannered and possibly the best example of a gentlecolt, Eclipse knows nothing but the best behavior when dealing with others. Even without his father's influence, the young colt is courteous to everypony around him, preferring their needs to be met first before dealing with his own. Charming and a little shy around new ponies, Eclipse knows it shouldn't be too hard to make new friends that, relatively speaking, are his own age. However, he can get a little too excited sometimes and break out of his charming demeanor, his voice squeaking in delight as he happily finds himself enveloped in the subject that grabbed his attention.
