Well, here the situation is very unusual…

We are accustomed to have rainfalls, floods and landslides from time to time; however, this is happening at more than half of the country simultaneously and with an intensity never seen. Even the massive rainfall of 1983, before we were born, was not that strong.

Here it have been several days that on TV there is all day news of the floods and mudslides at several cities and towns; as of now, thousands of houses (mostly of poor people who use to build near the river) have been destroyed, and several people have already died. Several bridges have fallen as well.

In Lima, there has been water shortage at all the city last days, and bottled water aisles at supermarkets are literally empty. It is not certain when will the water would return normally (and not only for a few hours a day), because the only river that furnish water to the city is full of mud and garbage, and has to be cleaned before it can enter to the treatment plant.

We know the situation here has been already covered by international news, so maybe some of you have watched it at the news. Should anyone be interested to help, please contact to the nearest Peruvian consulate.
