Nicknames: Deseronto by her mother, and Birdy by friends
Parents: Unknown; adopted daughter of Lightning Dust
Species: Pegasus
Special Talent/Career: Fighting, strategy, handymare/Thunderstorm control, Contractor, resistance to lightning
Personality/Bio: A young mare with cold fire in her heart. She is highly reserved, calculating and succinct. Due to her upbringing, she didn't have much social practice throughout her adolescence, and it shows in her seemingly stern attitude. Other ponies are fascinated by her curious antisocial behavior, and many misguided stallions have come to her door to see if there was more to this strange mare, but to their disappointment, nothing new was revealed to them. Birdy of course sees nothing wrong with her attitude, and unknowingly encourages her future of loneliness. What she lacks in social skills, she makes up for in capability. She is quite adept at fixing things, be it plumbing, a leaky roof, broken pipes, etc. She is a regular old handymare! She is content in her shack, and feels happy in smaller spaces with only nature to disturb her.
-Her earliest memory was that of her arrival to the Hyacinth Orphanage in Baltimare as a budding six-month-old. She had no possessions, no identity and no parents. At the tender age of six, Lightning Dust adopted her from the home. Lightning never had a desire for children, but she did want a protege to make up for her past failures at the Wonderbolt Academy. She was raised to win, and one way or another, she would have her victory. Even if it was through little Thunder Bird. Thus, Lightning raised the filly with little patience. Verbal and physical abuse was commonplace in their little cabin in the Baltimare Mountains. Thunder Bird grew up always on edge, prepared for a fight, and had few moments without fear. This toughened her exceptionally well, and after Lightning's rigorous flight training, Thunder became an apt flyer. But the psychological damage would be irreversible, and she lost all respect for herself because was never going to be Rainbow Dash, or anything her mother would be proud of. She learned to eat meat, and this of course took an even greater toll on the both of them. Lightning Dust slowly lost her mind. One Spring, the two were walking through the melted snowy grassland when a bear rounded on them. Lightning Dust's legs were permanently paralyzed, and after Thunder killed the bear, all she could do was watch as her adoptive mother wept in hysteria. For five years to come, Thunder took over their pelt and meat trade, and tended to Lightning. Naturally Lightning's insults became more and more cutting, but because of her state, Thunder could only feel sorry for the old mare. When she was nineteen, she and Lightning Dust had a vicious battle over dwindling food in the dead of winter. It was in this particular fight that Thunder finally had enough. Without looking back, she flew off from the cabin with only the clothes on her back, determined to just…leave. Effectively, this was a death sentence for Lightning, and Thunder has never forgiven herself for just abandoning her mother, despite everything she had done to her.
-After moving to Ponyville, she was homeless and recovering from her altercation with her mother. Thunder Bird lived in the grassy woodland, au naturale, trying her best to survive until she was ready to go into town. She had no concept of a job besides trade and could only earn money in underground, illegal hoof-fights. Let's just say she made a killing (The money kind of killing, just…just to be clear) and eventually she saved enough money to buy a shack to call her own. She moved off of the streets, and made herself a humble miniature home that became quite cozy after a while. Once she started making connections with others, very minimal ones at that, she asked to help make repairs around town and eventually that evolved into her becoming a contractor.
-She did not earn her cutie mark until adulthood.
-Her biological parents will be revealed one day, and it will be quite the surprise to her.
-Her favorite food are fruits, namely pears. She never ever touched another piece of meat after running away.
