Prickly Pear or "Nochtli" is my crazy head canon for Daring Do. Just hear me out…

Prickly lived a long long long time ago in a little village of stoneback herders high in the mountains and hills. She was oddly enough the only pegasus born to that village or to any herding village in the entire region of earth ponies and alpacas. She was quite the anomaly and some ponies didn't quite know what to make of the wings. They knew of pegasi but living isolated and far removed from the other two pony races, it was years before Prickly ever learned to fly. One day an old shaman came to her village and saw Prickly's wings. The shaman took it to be an omen of imminent change, the upswing of a new era. Though if the future was bad or good, the shaman couldn't say.

While at this time I don't have every detail hashed out, long story short, Prickly is tricked (by our good pal Discord) into releasing Ahuizotl from his centries long prison, an ancient stone mural hidden deep in a jungle temple. As punishment from the gods she has to put him back to sleep again. But Ahuizotl definitely doesn't want that having just woken up and all. All he wants is to take over the world, and get Discord senpai to notice him. Prickly is cursed to follow Ahuizotl and put a stop to his plans and keep whatever little far away pockets of society in harmony. She won't age until Ahuizotl is put back to sleep and some say she can't die either.

Prickly changed over the years, dawning a new identity every hundred years or so to keep things fresh. Forever moving in and out and around the cultures of the world, sometimes she hides, other times she's front and center. No pony realizes that several figures from their history books are actually just her filling a role of that time period. Her most current iteration is that of A.K. Yearling (Atlas Keystone Yearling) So very far removed from her humble beginnings as Prickly Pear,the foolish stoneback herder. A pony she hardly remembers these days, who was tasked to do something she really doesn't want to do anymore.
