"Celest…" Discord deadpanned, gesturing to their son happily nomming away on his tail. "Can we refund him?"

Celestia snorted, trying to hide her amusement with her hoof.

"No Discord, that's not how parenting works."

He huffed in reply, swishing his tail in an attempt to shake off Nova.

"I didn't know having a son would be so difficult though!"

She gave him a smug look, raising an eyebrow. "Oh? Aren't you the ruler of chaos? Surely you can take care of your own child."

"Tiaaa," Discord whined and thrashed his tail even faster, but Nova still somehow managed to hold on. "Help me out here."

"Nah," she chuckled, enjoying the scene laid out in front of her.

He grumbled to himself, now trying to levitate his son away, but he countered his magic and clung even tighter to his tail.

"Alright fine," he sighed, giving up. "I take it back. I don't want to refund him."

"Good", she smiled in approval. "Nova, come here!"

The young prince's head perked up, as he eagerly flew into his mother's hooves.

Discord crossed his arms, huffing in annoyance. "How come he listens to you!"

She shrugged, using her magic to lull him to sleep. "I dunno, it might just be a mother thing."

Before his face could become crestfallen, Celestia nudged him affectionately. "Don't worry, I'm sure you have a father thing as well."

He smiled hopefully at her. "You really think so?"

"Definitely."

Discord gazed fondly at his son, sleeping peacefully in his wife's hooves. No matter how troublesome the little colt may be, he'll be sure to give it his all to be the best father he can.


Nova's always been a troublesome child when he was younger, giving both his parents a hard time. While he listened to Celestia more, he loved annoying his father in various ways XD Eventually, Discord stopped trying to get him to listen, and ended up just playing along :3
