After their first date and the trip to the zoo Applejack decides to take Octavia to the beach. She regreted that decision very quickly. For Octavia schemed.
Octavia manages to trick Applejack into wearing a two piece swimsuit that AJ considers too "girly" for her. Plus it's too revealing for AJs liking.
However she loves Octy, and wore it to keep her happy. Then she noticed the bat Octavia, "rescued" from the zoo. Little batty makes Octavia happy so AJ said nothing.
