The bog unicorn is the closest living relative to the old primal purebred unicorns that roamed the lands bedore it was dubbed Equestria.
They are highly elusive and very few ponies have ever come in contact with them. This has resulted in them becoming somewhat of a myth as most ponies don't believe they actually exist.

These unicorns live deep inside of swampy and thick, unhospitable forests far away from any other ponykind. The bog unicorns are highly spiritual and their whole society believes in supernatural phenomenon such as ghosts and spirits. They also believe that as a unicorn grows older they get a stronger and stronger connection to the spirit world, eventually granting them to freely contact the spirits for advice and guidance. Because of this they always have a so called "elder" that acts as an advisor for the leaders of the village, delivering the wisdom of the spirits.

The current elder of the biggest bog unicorn village is Weeping Willow (pictured above)

There is really no difference between mares and stallions as they are all lanky and have lion like tails, long fetlocks, beards, ear tuffts and cloven hooves. (pictured above)
Horns are the most individual part of these unicorns, and even shows at what levels their magic is. The longer and more curved their horns are the more powerful their magic is. There are a few bog unicorns that are born with straight horns yet they are considered detached from the spirit world and might have a hard time fitting in.

When it comes to their special talents most ponies devote themselves to things such as the creation of magical artifacts, foraging, potion making and then the similar things to the normal ponies such as, cooking, building, tailoring, jewelry making and more.

Bog unicorns colors are very desaturated and pale compared to the average pony. They mostly have a white or off-white coat color with light, pastel colored mane. (pictured above)

It is widely believed that when a bog unicorn dies part of their soul stays in the swamp, haunting it and luring unweary ponies to their demise in order to protect the swamp. These wisp like beings can take the form of a ethereal unicorn often just seen through the corner of ones eyes. (pictured above)

The biggest village is built around a big tree in the middle of the swamp. Forest surrounding the outskirt of the village. The whole village consist of walkways stretching from house to house so that they can keep close to the swamp and all its spiritual magic. (pictured above)

Okay so I wanted to expand my headcanon and show some of the different pony sub-species (and other species) that inhabit my verse and will hopefully get mentioned and even showed further as my stories progresses.
The description is kinda short and stuff, but I hope you get the point.
I might add more at a later point but I wouldn't count on it.

Also these species headcanons are open to anyone who might wish to use them, just give me a little bit of credit if you want to do so
