In great determination to get Sabe awake, Kekere thinks with her nose, takes a deep breath, and uses the Dik-Dik alarm call!
This subsequently jolts Sabe awake with a sudden startle to his ears.
If you are curious on what this Dik-Dik alarm sounds like, here is a video of one for example. —-→ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Vk4jd0bt6Q
This page was quite hilarious to draw and color because finally Sabe is awake after about nearly 10 pages!
Also I got to draw Kekere doing something accurate to her real-life counterparts in the wild.
Now, if any of you are wondering why Sabe didn't see her as soon as he opened her eyes, there is a logical explanation for this.
Most antelopes haves there eyes at the sides of their heads, rather than the front. Since they are indeed pray animals. Also this is the very second in which Sabe is jolted awake, so he is still in a state of shock. And Kekere being Dik-Dik has very fast reflexes, so she would sprint as soon as he is finished reacting to the noise she just made.
Basically it is all happening in a very short amount of time.
