For the occasion of the release of My Little Pony: The Movie today, I made this doodle thing with a pirate bird waifu. Enjoy! •W•

Captain Celaeno and her mischievous gang of pirates have been on a successful raid for the finest treasures below the skies. They have observed all the maps they could get their feathers on and have been gaining a glorious collection of jewels and gold. Celaeno reads a map leading to a lost treasure on a jungle island far in the middle of the ocean. Her crew sets sail and lowers down under the clouds, landing on the tropical land. Celaeno tells her crew to spread out and cover as much land as possible. She knew it was a risky move to have her crewmates separate, but she also knew they were competent and able to defend themselves of any threat. She stumbles across and grand, abandoned temple where the map supposedly has the treasure inside. The parrot looks around for what felt like hours until she sees a fascinating glow. She continues on sees the glow was light reflecting off a large pile of gold and exotic jewelry, all just waiting for a lovely bird like her to snatch. However, she stops in her tracks when she heard mysterious hissing. Out of the shadows appeared large green scales as python named Kaa revealed himself, welcoming the captain to his abode. He says that he is the owner of the beautiful treasure Celaeno has her eyes on and is willing to lend it to her if she can surpass his challenge. Celaeno was quite suspicious of the serpent, but she accepts, knowing that she can get through anything if treasure’s involved. Kaa tells the bird to look at his eyes and try to resist for a few seconds, and the loot is hers for the taking. The two looks right at each other, with Kaa’s eyes suddenly disappearing into multiple colored rings. Celaeno was surprised by this change, but her mind was slowly being caught by the majestic swirls. She kept staring and tried to resist, seeing this as some sort of trick from the python. She was able to look back for a bit, but the soothing speed of the rings have eventually reflected off her own eyes. Celaeno was beginning to fall into the snake’s spell, leaving her mouth open as she was being mesmerized by Kaa’s colorful eyes. Kaa lowers his tail and loops around Celaeno’s thighs, wanting to wrap the captain in his mighty coils. Celaeno gets dizzy, never keeping her eyes off of Kaa’s, slowly submitting to the spell as her mind is being erased by al the beautiful colors. The bird’s arms were pinned to her sides as she felt a few squeezes on her body, enjoying the softness and silkiness of the coils. They looped and twisted upwards, relaxing Celaeno as they reached her chest and shoulders. After a few soothing squeezes, the tail loops around her head, wrapping around the neck and tugging, cutting off some air from the parrot. Her beak closes as she smiles, fully submitting to Kaa’s mysterious, but blissful power. Kaa returns to the hidden shadows of the temple with Celaeno in his coils, making sure to hide in case of any other intruders. The rest of the crew haven’t seen any treasure in the island, thinking the map was fake, though they haven’t spotted the temple so far and were wondering what has become of their daring captain.

As for the movie itself, I’ll be guilty and admit that I saw the leak that was recently out, but I’m still gonna see it in theatres just to support the series and I suggest you should, too. Hyping up for the movie to be on the big screen only to decide watching it beforehand online and stopping right there just doesn’t feel right.
For my initial thoughts without spoiling anything, it was quite fine. The animation was amazing to see, a little nostalgic being a traditional animated film after a long time with CG films, almost like a 90s Disney film. Even the CG was pretty good with the animation, which is a step up from the backlash it had when the first trailers were out. The songs I found really catchy and great to listen to, especially Capper and Tempest’s songs, I could listen to them all day I’m sure. The interactions within the main cast is also fun to see, whether you know anything about the Mane 6 or not, you can feel a vibe on how long they’ve been friends.
However, the movie has problems mostly concerning the plot, especially with its pacing and concepts introduced for the film exclusively. The movie goes by quickly, effecting the development of new characters, their screen time, scenes that feel like they should last longer, and scenes or musical numbers just happening all of a sudden or out of nowhere without any build up to them. For the concepts, some are interesting, but they don’t have much background to them and are just brought up out of nowhere, like we’re expected to know what it is already when we never heard of it outside the movie. Some also don’t really go anywhere, one of them just being a little gag when you think it should rather raise the stakes.
There are also tropes and clichés that the movie borrows from the show and will be quite noticeable if you’re a longtime fan, so if you didn’t favor them much in the show, there’s a chance you might not favor them in the film. I won’t say much on what these tropes are, but you might spot them from just the trailers alone.
But overall, it was enjoyable and I recommend giving it a watch, just turn off your brain only slightly and you’ll get a kick out of it, depends. I’m gonna see it in theatres and see if my thoughts on it will change, so we’ll have to wait see.
