"Simo Häyhä. Soldier from Finland, fought in "Winter War" (known as "Talvisota" too). Using a Finnish M/28-30 rifle, he shot at leats 500 men. His technique was different form other snipers, no scope (it was slower than open sights and lens could have fog), snow in his mouth (to hide his breath), and he even froze the snow under him that it wouldn't move when because of the gun. Häyhä was probably best Sniper in the world. Sabaton even made song of him (White death). And he was inspiration behind this picture. (of course Häyhä used hood, and wasn't so noticeable).
This was also practice for perspective and coloring. I wanted to draw fluttershy or Rarity here, but their colors and personality wasn't fit for this. Also I wanted earthpony. So I settled whit Applejack.
ALSO! Today (6.12.) is Finnish Independence Day! So this picture is for that too, I guess.. "
