Parcly Taxel: Here we go again to Japan! This time though, I’ll be concentrating on its centre – the more traditional, cultural Kansai region, whose main cities are Kyoto and Osaka – as well as Hiroshima.
Spindle: And unlike previous trips, we’ll be spending Hearth’s Warming there. Though it’s not a designated holiday, the festive season runs much, much longer – even merging into Nightmare Night and the new year ahead.
Parcly: Once again, I don’t have many places I want to visit besides the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, the most important monument of modern Japan. Centuries-old temples and shrines in the other two cities have been preserved and are still operating, so many that I’ll only see points of sheer beauty.
Spindle: Not to mention the onsen in Kinosaki, through which we will transit. Like previous trips to other places, Parcly’s bringing a drawing pad so she can share all her “discoveries” and fascinations as she goes.
Parcly: I originally had the saddle-shaped cenotaph of the Memorial Park on the cover image for this trip, but since I’ll be drawing that anyway there I synthesised another background from various historic sites in Kyoto, being more representative of everything that awaits me. The standalone of Spindle wrapping around my neck like a scarf can be found here.
