SO. I decided to try drawing Beaureguard like the MLP Movie seaponies, and can I just say, I love him I also drew a "hippogriff/pony" version of him for when he transforms.

(dunno if some of this is considered spoliers for the movie, I only talk about the seaponies, nothing about the ending):
Beaureguard (Beau) was born a seapony in Seaquestria. His father is a hippogriff who decided to stay a seapony because he liked his home under the water. Rarity fell in love with this seapony and eventually transformed herself into a seapony with the white pearl Queen Novo has. Years pass, Beau is born, he's happily living as a seapony and is friends with Princess Skystar's daughter (don't have a name for her). Skystar's daughter is fascinated by the pearl and it's magic, and is able to create a mini pearl that has some of the White Pearl's magic in it so that seaponies can transform into hippogriffs anywhere. It's not as powerful and needs time to recharge, so you have to wait a while before you can use it again (and it probably needs to be charged up by the White Pearl every year or so). While living in Seaquestria, something threatens their home (an orca, or shark, or sea witch, dunno what), and while trying to protect their home, Beau's father is killed. Rarity tries to move on, but Beau can see that she's struggling. He comes up with the idea for them to move to Ponyville, that way she'll be with her friends who can help her. He's prepared to turn himself into a hippogriff/pony so that he can join his mother in Ponyville, but his friend gives him the mini pearl to use.

Beau's never left the Ocean, so transforming into a hippgriff/pony is strange for him at first. Walking is weird, gravity is heavy, he forgets to hold up his new wings so they'll practically be touching the ground during conversations sometimes. He's notorious for having messy bed hair because he's never had to comb his mane before so he often forgets. He wears the pearl all the time and enjoys swimming in the lake. He's not very skilled at flying, and the heights freak him out, but he's learning.
