"Hmh, come on Bang, I would've only used one of them! Honest!" The icy dirt path further north crunched under eight hooves as a pair of earth ponies trotted along it, returning home from a stop at the airstrip. Rather unfortunate was that the Thumper and it's grenades were so fun to use and versatile, that Linework found herself rapidly running low on them — possibly in no small part due to being cooped up with Interrobang and Gusty for such an extended period while they waited for the snow to get a little less severe.
"Linework, I am not going to be walking home with my back end the size of a pair of weather balloons with an innertube wedged between them." Loathed though he was to admit it, sometimes being able to get around on all four hooves did outweigh the fun of getting blimped. That being besides the fact that since Linework was carrying the Thumper, Interrobang was saddled with toting the larger portion of the ammo. Linework let off a small chuckle, nudging Bang's rump.
"Well, duh, of course you wouldn't be walking home. We'd be floating home!" Bang could only roll his eyes in response, the both of them continuing onwards. As the trotted, though, something caught their attention on the breeze — a revving engine, and a lot of squeaking. Looking behind them both, Bang's eyes opened wide, catching sight of some huge vehicle charging down the road, kicking up snow in it's wake and drawing closer. Oh, sweet Celestia what in the world…
Linework had seen the vehicle as well, though in stark contrast to her roommate's response of ditching the saddlebags and burying himself in the nearest snowbank — halfway, anyways — she stood her ground, bringing the Thumper to bear. "It can't be… Bang, this is what Night Strike gave me the Thumper for in the first place! I think. Whatever, just, uh, gah!" Acting quick as the tank barreled down on the both of them, Linework grabbed one of the small grenades off of the ground, sliding it into her rifle's breech and shutting it. The tank drew ever closer as she took aim down the sights, loosing one of the rounds on the front armor, and being temporarily blinded as the flash soon followed, the grenade exploding exactly as intended.
Inside the inflatable war machine, the pink-maned pegasus brought the vehicle to a halt, still reeling from the sudden shock of the blast outside. That was smaller than she was expecting, at least from an anti-armor gun… Night Strike. She couldn't let her stop her, not when she's so close to exacting her revenge already. She'll just have to ensure she won't be a problem… Looking through the optic she did have, the somewhat familiar blue of that mare's mane caught her eye, as well as watching it starting to turn and run away. Well, if shes gonna make it easy for her…the Maus shifted into gear, turning to charge towards the pony with the grenade rifle.
Linework panicked. The grenade rifle should've done something! Not just stall it for a bit! Well, it probably can't outmaneuver her, at least, right? She just has to run in some way that isn't directly down the road! And, luckily for her, she had dropped out of the Prometheus School of Running Away From Things, and the snowbanks on either side were a bit shorter than they were further south.
Unfortunately for her, the snow was still deep enough to make it tough to run. And the Maus didn't have any trouble traversing snow…
