- Humor Mimi Pie is the first born twin daughter of Cheese Sandwich and Pinkie Pie. Her fraternal twin sister, Chimi-Cherry Cheesecake, was born almost an hour after her. Since the two look nothing alike, a lot of ponies don't believe they are actually twins. (Like how Pinkie Pie and Marble Pie are twins but look nothing alike)

- Humor was named after a pun. She was given the middle name "Mimi" so Pinkie could use the pun "Humor Me" when talking about her name. She thought it was funnier than it actually is. Humor obtained the nickname "Dark Humor" due to her darker coat and dark personality. She liked dark or morbid jokes, which sometimes would bring a conversation to a screeching halt; But Pinkie loved her all the same.

- Humor's relationship with Chimi is strong, in a sense. Despite Chimi being the polar opposite of Humor, the two still have a wonderful time working together with their mother in Sugar Cube Corner. While Chimi was off also helping their father, Humor stayed in the bakery working on her decorating. Although her choice of cake decorating was a bit… different, Pinkie Pie still saw this potential in her and encouraged her to keep trying. Soon enough, her cutie mark appeared after creating the perfect Nightmare Night bat cake.

- When Humor and Chimi were foals, their father Cheese Sandwich received an anonymous letter that offered him a job he couldn't refuse. He packed up and had to leave Equestria, but he promised he'd return. Pinkie did her best to keep the girls happy after he left, so they didn't miss him as much.. But Humor knew her father was a traveling pony and knew he would be back in no time. However, about a year or so later, another letter arrived directed to Pinkie. It was delivered by a unicorn stallion by the name of Pokey Pierce, an ex lover of Pinkie Pie's. The letter explained how they found Cheese Sandwich dead in a forest and even included a box with Boneless 2 inside. Distraught, Pinkie Pie mourned over her husband, and Pokey stayed there to comfort her. Over time, Pinkie Pie began to accept it, and moved on.. Eventually accepting Pokey back into her life, because she didn't want Humor and Chimi to be raised without a father figure.
This led to Pinkie Pie becoming pregnant with her third child, a boy, she named Frosting Pin, or Frost for short. And after awhile came another foal, another girl who looked almost exactly like Pinkie Pie at birth; So she named her Sprinkles Mini-Me Pie.
Humor and Chimi accepted their new siblings and showed no jealousy or resentment towards them. Humor liked Frost the best, he seemed to share a similar likeness for more mature jokes.

- When Humor's little sister Sprinkles was old enough to go to school, their father Cheese Sandwich returned. Humor was surprised to see that her father wasn't dead, but she didn't leap into his arms or anything.. After all, she's seen ghosts. After Cheese explained what happened to him, they learned it was all a set up created by Pokey Pierce so he could get Pinkie back. Pinkie kicked him out and sent in a request for full custody of Frost and Sprinkles. Although Pokey was the only father Frost and Sprinkles knew, over time they grew accustomed to their new "father".. And Cheese learned to love them as his own as well.

- Humor likes to read, she often wanders into Twilight's castle without saying a word and heads directly towards the fiction-horror section and sits on the floor beside the bookcase, just reading for hours. Not even looking up or saying hello. She just reads and leaves.

- Although she isn't into the girly attire, she wears the pink bow on the base of her tail in honor of Chimi. Chimi thought she would look pretty in pink, and because she loves her, she keeps it on.
