- Half-Note is the only daughter of Neon Lights and Vinyl Scratch AKA DJ Pon3. Born with heterochromia, she was named after her alternating eye and mane colors, along with the music note: A half note.

- Half-Note quickly took to her families business. She loved hearing the music her parents would come up with, and she went to her first dance club when she was barely a filly. (With her mother supervising of course) She dreamed to someday own her own place for ponies to have a fun night out.

- Being home schooled, Half-Note didn't get to go to magic kindergarten, so her magic is pretty much useless: However, it does come in handy when shuffling through vinyls.

- Not long after discovering her cutie mark, her family took her to Sugar Cube Corner to celebrate, where she met Frost. She was immediately taken by this colt, as he sat in the corner of the room behind the counter, with his headphones on, kneading dough. His music was on just a little too loud, so she could make out the beat coming from the headphones: they shared the same taste in music. She knew she had to meet this colt and when no pony was looking, she hopped over the counter and snuck into the room to meet him. They quickly became friends, and he just as quickly became Half-Note's first crush.

- Despite being in Frost's "friendzone" for most of their growing years, Half-Note was never really mad when she found out Frost was dating Gala Blossom. A bit envious, but she wasn't mad at her. She just wanted Frost to be happy, and as long as he was happy with Gala, Half-Note accepted it. When Gala lost her memory, Half-Note tried to convince Gala to get back with him because she knew Frost loved her, but in turn, Gala knew Half-note loved him; and she knew their time together was over. Gala convinced Frost to give Half-Note a chance.

- Half-Note and Frost are currently dating off and on. They are taking things slow, and Half-Note doesn't mind one bit. She's happy whenever Frost is smiling.

- Half-Note still assists Frost in his Radio DJ show, she helps sort through the music and even goes on air with him every other day or so. Weekends, Frost lets her host the show. In her off time, Half-Note's second job was her dream come true; She owns a Nightclub called "Blacklight", where she herself, DJs for personally. (With her mother cameoing from time to time)
