Sunbeam trekked after Princess Aurora Borealis, finding it a bit difficult to keep up with the tall mare. “Princess! Please! We need to go over this paperwork!” she huffed, shuffling through the stacks of papers that she levitated above her head.
Aurora sighed, flipping her large wavy mane over her shoulder. “More things to sign? Such a tedious task!” she complained, continuing to trot forward towards the kitchen.
“Princess Aurora Boreal—”
“Just ‘Aurora’, sweetie!” Aurora Borealis interrupted, turning her head and giving Sunbeam a sly wink.
Sunbeam spluttered, heat jumping into her cheeks. “Miss! These papers require your signature. There are several constructions that require your approval before they can be built! The ponies cannot start until you look over the documents!”
Aurora waved her hoof dismissively. “All in good time!” she stated. “I am hungry, and there is a chocolate cake in the kitchen that is calling my name!”
“Princess, you can’t keep—”
“‘Aurora’,” the princess reminded in a sing-song voice, smirking.
“Uh, Aurora,” Sunbeam corrected, “you can’t keep running from me when there’s paperwork to be done! I know that you prefer to talking to ponies rather than writing to them, but as a princess, you have to do these things!”
“You sound like my mother!” Aurora Borealis chuckled, speeding up a bit. She wasn’t far from the kitchen now. She could smell sweet, freshly baked bread, and her mouth watered.
“H-hey! Stop moving so fast!” Sunbeam protested, breathing heavily. “I have short legs, and I can’t keep up, Aurora!”
Aurora Borealis broke into run, a wide smile spread across her face. “That’s a shame!” she teased. “Cake, here I come!”
Sunbeam let out a loud groan. Here we go again! She grumbled inwardly, chasing after her princess.
