Jinx's eyelids fluttered open at the sound of the creaking mattress beneath her. "Cookie?" She muttered, turning over to see her boyfriend getting up from their bed.
"Oh, morning, Jinx. Didn't mean to wake you." Cookie Batter smiled, leaning back over the bed to press a kiss on the draconoquus' forehead. "Mom asked Strawberry and I to come in early this morning to help prepare some new recipes."
Jinx stuck out her lower lip. "Aww, come on, Cooks! It's-" she glanced at the clock. "Four thirty? Are you crazy?" Cookie rolled his eyes. He caught Jinx's puppy dog eyes from his peripheral. He tried to leave the bedroom to get ready, but Jinx's claws grabbed his tail. "C'mon. Stay with me in here! It's nice and warm, we can cuddle…it's too cold out there to go outside. Celestia hasn't even risen the sun yet!" Jinx rolled onto her back playfully, not taking her eyes (or claws) off Cookie Batter. She blinked innocently at him, but Cookie couldn't be fooled.
"Sorry, honeybun. Duty calls." Jinx didn't let go, her pouty face only intensifying. Cookie sighed. "I'll make you strawberry waffles tomorrow morning if you let me go." Jinx immediately released his tail from her grasp. Strawberry waffles were her greatest weakness. She narrowed her eyes. "Pinkie Promise?"
"Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye."
"Hmm." Jinx stroked her chin. Cookie raised an eyebrow at her. "You're free to go."
"Thank you." Cookie sighed.
He turned around to pack up his things. As he reached for his shopping list of baking ingredients, he noticed Jinx staring at him from the bed. "What are you staring at?" He asked after a few moments.
"Hmm?" Jinx swiped her tongue across her lips. "Oh,nothing, just dessert."
