- Ice Lance is the only son of Spearhead and Fleur de Lis. Although Fleur is married to Fancy Pants; She is in an open marriage, which led to the conception of Ice Lance. Fleur's previous child and Lance's half sister, Joyau, decided to move away and pursue her own dreams elsewhere; Leaving her past relationships and family behind. (My excuse for the owner of the OC being inactive)

- Despite being born in Canterlot, Lance knew early on he didn't belong there. For one thing, he was a pegasus surrounded by unicorns; And another, he heard stories about his paternal father and how he served in the Royal Guard with Prince Shining Armor. Lance was in awe of the Guards, especially Shining. Although he was proud to have a father that served in the Guard too, he respected Shining Armor more due to the fact he was a Prince, a father and still Captain of his own regimen when they needed him.. Spearhead was just an "artist" now.. Which Lance understood, but he much preferred the Royal Guard life.

- Lance began training and pushing himself, and when he was finally old enough he said goodbye to his mother and went on his way to the Crystal Empire to try out for a place in the Crystal Guards to serve under Prince Shining Armor. Although he did not succeed to pass the physicals the first few times, Lance never gave up. Test after test, trial after trial, failure after failure, Lance never quit; Until finally he found his place in a brigade. He wasn't serving directly under Shining yet, but he made it into the Guards. Eventually Lance worked his way up in rank and was elected Captain of his own Brigade, chosen by Shining Armor himself.

- Similar to Nova's situation, Lance created a quick rivalry with Lunar Guard Captain, Mystic Shadow. Although he shares no illwill towards Nova at all, Lance and Mystic can't be in the same room as one another without bickering. The two of them get under each other's skin. Despite Nova having her own love/hate relationship with Mystic, Nova usually has to play peacemaker between the two Captains when it comes time for the Royal Guard Summit.

- Due to his hard work and dedication to the Empire, Shining Armor appointed Lance to be Euphony's personal body guard. With Euphony's personality, Shining knew she did not want to be "caged in", and would like to venture around Equestria, meet new ponies, make new friends and visit old ones. So he asked Lance to go with her where ever she desired, and to protect her from any sign of harm. Lance immediately accepted, despite being a little shy and intimidated around the Princess.. Also a little clutzy. But if she was ever in any sign of danger, his dorkiness would vanish and he would give his life to protect her.
