Day 130, Research Project: Blue Tide [ON HIATUS]

"Another day, another banged head. Honestly, the pipes and chains in Vegas' workshop hang far too low to the ground. It's like a forest of dangerous metal in there.

But, her's is a science I must bring myself to understand, like every other field I study. There's something alien about her machinery, her devices, how they work with seemingly no direction or reason other than 'I want it to work'. As if the electrons in a circuit or the barely-sealed casing of a hydraulic magically function exactly as you want them to, even though physics or the path of least resistance or even open gaps in said casing scream otherwise.

To be able to construct machines like her, to bring to life designs that just would not work in normal cases, it would prove incredibly useful to me. But I simply can't get my head around it. I build each device exactly to specifications, exactly as she would, and the device listens to physics instead of my will…

Is there some unknown trick to it? Something I'm not grasping? This requires further study… and I require another bandaid."


Author's Note:
Vegas is a Motorlord, AKA a mechanic who follows the Iron God. Or at least she would be if she didn't reject his call. She's instead become the one maintaining Horizon's laboratory and home in terms of machinery and repair, though she does spend a lot of her time in her workshop, putting together machines and devices whenever inspiration strikes. She's also a bit more than just screwed in the head after being 'excommunicated' from her people. Being thrown out by your God because you didn't answer him tends to cause a lot of irreparable brain damage. At least she has work to distract her at Horizon's lab!
