Background/Personality:

Topaz is the son of Dragon Lord Ember and Garble. As a child of the Dragon Lord, Topaz ranks higher than any of the other dragons his age and lives upon the highest cliff with his mother. Since birth, Topaz was taught the ways of being a dragon, from fire breath to destroying rocks loudly to assert power. With Dragon Lord Ember busy commanding the Dragon Lands, most of these dragon lessons came from his father Garble: these lessons included those in developing a rough personality and disinterest dragons below him. After five years, Topaz gained a sister, Chara, much to the small brown dragon's distaste. Topaz felt that he should be the only child of Dragon Lord Ember, and Topaz made sure every knew his opinion. Topaz usually displayed his frustrations with his sister by either picking up fights or even throwing rocks at Chara. At first little Chara did not understand and could not fight back against her brother; however in only a short time, Chara learned for herself how to fight back, often at least matching her brother's strength. Eventually Topaz grew to be impressed with his sister and decided she was worth his time: after all, they both shared a strong dragon mother, and little Chara could not help who her father was. From this point forward, Topaz taught his little sister everything he learned from his father, leading to another dragon with a very rough, dragon-like personality. Now that Topaz is about to enter his early teenage dragon years, he hopes to be among his own aged dragons and conquer the position of leader.

Topaz is very similar to his father in almost every regard because Garble taught his son to be just like him. From this, Topaz is quite boisterous, obnoxious, and judgmental of weaker dragons. Topaz is also a rough and tough kind of dragon, not letting anything such as feelings get in his way. The few traits Topaz gained from his mother were tenacity, daring, and even loyalty to friends. However, despite having some of his mother's good traits, Topaz feels deeply that dragons are the most superior species.

Relationships

In the dragon culture, children usually attach themselves to which ever parent they take after more. In the case of Topaz, that means Garble. Although Topaz loves his mother, he grows more distant as to not become too emotionally attached. Relationships are more animal-like as supposed to pony-like as to aid in survival.

At first Topaz did not like his sister Chara: on top of being a competitor for parental support, Topaz particularly did not like that her father was Spike, the "pony dragon". However, Topaz grew to tolerate, then even like his sister as she became more dragon-like. Eventually Topaz even began teaching Chara all that he knew in being a rough and tough dragon. Now, Topaz sees her as merely another family member surviving alongside the other dragons.

In the Dragon Lands, the dragons do not pay particular attention to family roles like ponies do: uncles, aunts, cousins, etc. do no really matter regarding social protocol. From this, Topaz learned at an early age to disregard his "uncle" Spike; however, Garble added fuel to the fire when he taught Topaz to see Spike as an inferior dragon, resulting in Topaz disliking the "pony dragon" Spike.

- Topaz's fire breath is a red/red orange color; however, the dragon prefers using his physical strength over his fire breath.
- Topaz is incredibly strong: with his hefty body, Topaz has the strength of an adult dragon.
- Topaz is not a strong flier, although he would never admit to this flaw.
