this is technically a part of my next gen verse, but feel free to take it as its own thing if you want!

In this universe, Sunset Shimmer and the rest of those from the EQG world had to flee and seek refuge in Equestria; some of the 'counterparts' emerged as different pony types than their Equestrian versions, with the most shocking being Sunset and her six friends, who were alicorns. All 7 were offered official royal titles if they so wished, but the only one to accept the title was Sunset, who is now the Princess of Compassion.

Starlight offered to become one of the first members of Sunset's court, and was officially made Sunset's royal advisor. How all three of these ponies wound up romantically involved is rather complicated, but their bonds along with working so closely together led to them eventually becoming married and even starting their own family.
