Name: Palm Top

Nickname: Lettuce head, coconut head, squid kid (?)

Ponies who don't like him probably call him weed. Though that is rare.

Occupation: Royal Guard Blacksmith

Quick Bread Bio: Cheery and generally laid back, Palm Top lived a fairly content life on the coast with his parents and siblings, where they owned a small yet profitable glass blowing business.
They made everything from wine glasses, bowls, and sculptures, to prescribed eye wear. (They also got a lot of orders for bongs and water pipes.) And even some metal work on the side.

As he grew up, his sister left to join the royal guard, and he received letters from her on a regular basis, which inspired him to join as well. It may or may not have had anything to do with the new lightning based weaponry she talked about in great detail and how difficult they are to make. Basically it takes a lot of skill to craft bolts of lightning into spears and arrow heads without killing yourself. And Palm was ready for a challenge.

Other Notes: Palm Top wears a necklace with a shimmering glass ball at the end. His late grandmother gave it to him when he was little. She enchanted it to float, glow, and do other tricks when he speaks a special word to it.
For his own amusement, he tries to convince other ponies that it is actually a tiny crystal ball, and that he can predict the future. Though he warns that his clairvoyance muscle is weak so his predictions are right only 30% of the time. But the special effects still do a good job of dazzling ponies.

Palm Top is very health oriented and doesn't like junk food, especially the stuff loaded down with sugar.

(So the exact opposite of me.)

This is kind of an odd one but Palm is obscenely good in hoof to hoof combat. When in his teens, some friends asked if he wanted to participate in a tournament (It was for a good cause) and he won. And then his parents found out and punished him for 100 years despite their more bohemian parenting methods.
I mentioned earlier that Summer Mist Kite Runner is destined to join the royal guard, and I'm sticking to that. And she'll be using weapons like lightning spears and arrows. But she isn't capable of making them herself, at least not yet. Which lead me to the creation of this character. They'll most likely be good friends.

I'm not keeping that cutie mark. For now it is a stand in until I can conceptualize something better.
