Recognizing that her friends likely would not have enough time with their own careers to teach at the school she wanted to create, Twilight Sparkle instead asked each of them to recommend her someone they thought exhibited their specific values and could vouch for as good candidates for the spot. (Writing with her 'interdimensional pen pal' during the planning stage also led to the creation of a seventh value class instead of the traditional six elements as she had planned, as the existence of seven in Sunset's world was at least proof enough that it could not hurt to have a class centered around forgiveness and empathy.)

While some of those recommended for the roles took more convincing than others (specifically Gilda), for the most part, those recommended and appointed have changed little over the years, most seeming to enjoy their jobs as teachers at the school and the flexible hours given by such a role (although some of those originally appointed only took temporary contracts before moving on to resume their own preferred careers.) Some of the faculty have even settled down together, an action that might have been discouraged at any other school—but Twilight is more than happy to know that her employees have found their own special kind of friendship within the halls of her dream school.
